It’s one of the coins I had already deemed kind of useless and was excited for the chance to get rid of it. I threw the penny on the ground thinking “Seriously? You can’t even use a penny to pay for parking? What a worthless coin.”
You did it! You graduated from college (or high school)! Now what? If you’re like me, most of your life was guided by your parents, guardians, or school staff. You were told when/what to eat, where you could and could not go, when you were supposed to be in class and what you were expected to do, what sports to play, what summer job to take etc.
What I later came to realize, and wished I had come to the conclusion sooner, was that my girlfriends weren’t fake, they were multi-faceted with personalities that had wide spectrums. What a beautiful thing that is!

What was supposed to be a time of celebration and a vacation with my parents turned into my worst nightmare. We went to visit my youngest brother in Colorado.
